A positive comparison is formed by adding -èt to the end of the adjective/adverb in place of -ò, or lè- in place of lò-:
hèksèt hadd = (a) bigger tree
Jinaisa lèhœt. = I learned more quickly.
A negative comparison is formed by adding -ètè to the end of the adjective/adverb in place of -ò, or -è to the end when lò- is used:
yèzètè venik = (a) less dark color
Sìþisa lòþànsè = I do not hear as well. (I hear less good.)
A positive superlative is formed by adding foi- to the adjective/adverb. Foi- can also prefix a noun to express the meaning of 'best' or 'greatest':
foihilukò Shódásèð = (the) cleverest human
foiþètaya = (the) best/greatest performance
When two or more things are being directly compared, the superlative and the suffix -sá is used (replacing -vìn):
Dusa foiónia yiłsá. = I am a better hunter than you. (I am best hunter
than you.)
Du foihinèks sertsin fenufiyałsá sèni. = Music is greater than life or
love. (Music is greatest than life and
love.)
